Our History

Philanthropy is the foundation of the Utility Services Partner Alliance Charities. Through charitable donation drives and hands-on community service projects, the Partner Alliance is committed to giving back to organizations aligning with its mission to support the communities it serves.

Now, the Partner Alliance is doing so as an official 501(c)(3) charitable organization and taking its philanthropy efforts to new heights. By officially launching as the Utility Services Partner Alliance Charities in 2024, this new non-profit status allows the Partner Alliance to increase its membership, fundraising, and charitable giving efforts.

While organizationally, the Partner Alliance will operate under an official Board of Directors, the commitment and engagement of the partner members will remain an integral part of the organization’s success.

Guided by the values of education, community, and inclusion, the Partner Alliance meets quarterly to share successes and struggles of the industry, learn from guest speakers, encourage diversity, inclusion, and equity initiatives, and engage in community service projects.

Initially formed in 2015, NPL launched the Partner Alliance as an initiative of intentional contracting and subcontracting after company leadership recognized that many smaller firms, especially those minority and women-owned, were not afforded the same opportunities across the industry.

What began as a small roundtable discussion with a few key members on the state of the industry has grown to nearly 20 independent companies comprised of contractors and suppliers ranging from family-owned small businesses to industry leaders, coming together to share their know-how, contribute hundreds of hours to community service, and build future growth opportunities across the industry.
